Where are you located?
We are currently located in Shelton, CT at a facility that has met our program needs this current school year. Address is shared with only prospective families.
What grades are currently offered?
We are actively enrolling students from Kindergarten through 8th grade. We are also accepting a prospective list for 9th-12th grade for some independent/drop in courses. If you would like to sign up to receive information on these high-school courses, please email info@connecticutcrossacademy.org . We will expand to offer full-time high school membership in the next two years.
What will be the student-teacher ratio in each classroom?
We are capping our classes at 12-14 students. We believe in maintaining an individualized approach and upholding excellence, necessitating smaller classroom sizes.
Will grades be combined?
For the 2026-2027 school year, we will have individual classes for k, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades (contingent on enrollments). 5th/6th grade and 7th/8th grade will be combined.
What curriculum will you be using?
We will be using a variety of curricula across subjects at CCA. All curricula selected and taught will be from a Biblical Worldview. We utilize Abeka, BJU Press and other unit based studies for our subject matter.
How much will this cost?
We have established our costs for the 2026-2027 academic year on our Membership Fees page.
Do you offer financial aid?
We are currently in the process of growing a blessing fund for families who need financial aid. You may indicate on your application if you are truly in need of financial assistance. While we can’t guarantee financial aid for every family, our goal is to help families who find themselves in need of some assistance. We also offer sibling discounts, and full time minister discounts.
What are the school day hours?
The school day will begin at 8:15 AM. Drop-off will be from 7:45-8:10. Students are expected to arrive on time. The day will conclude at 2:00 PM. Pick up is expected to be prompt.
Upon arrival, students will be dropped off in the main gym. Our day will begin there with an all school time of worship, prayer, devotional followed by physical fitness. Studies have shown that integrating physical activity into the school day, particularly in the morning, has been associated with enhanced cognitive functions such as alternantes, concentration, and memory. Engaging in moderate to vigorous exercise increases blood flow to the brain, which can also improve cognitive performance!
Are we a church?
Yes! Connecticut Cross Academy is a separate and lawful private organization, operating solely as a faith-based church, in accordance with Title 26 USC section 508(c)(1)(a). This means that Connecticut Cross Academy is a not for-profit entity of any kind and is entirely separate from any publicly traded or governmental organization. We are governed by Judeo-Christian principles though we do not have pastors, deacons, elders, etc.
Are there requirements to join?
Yes! Each family must apply to be a part of Connecticut Cross Academy. An evaluation of each application will take place to ensure that the families who seek to be a part of our community, align with our mission and core values. Once accepted, families must also complete a membership agreement form to solidify their commitment to our organization.
Will you accept students with special needs or learning disabilities?
At this time we are unable to enroll students with learning disabilities or excessive behavioral needs.
Are vaccinations required?
We believe that it is the parent/guardians right to decide what is best for their children and family. We do not require or request any vaccination records.
