Our Founders Story:

Charlie and Virginia Hatchett are Connecticut natives who have lived in Fairfield County for most of their lives. Under the authority of God they got married 12 years ago, started a family and now have three beautiful children. Chuck, as most people call him, was a professional athlete during the beginning years of their marriage, but the call of God was on his life, which led him to serve the Lord, and has been a minister since 2015 when he began as a youth director at a local church, which then led to an Associate Pastor position. After several years, God called him outside of the four walls of the church and he now speaks all over the country at public and private schools and universities, sharing the good news of the gospel. His educational background are degrees in Science, and Seminary as well as studies in business management and leadership development.

Virginia brings a unique blend of professional expertise and personal experience to CCA. With a background in marketing, she once thrived in the fast-paced corporate world. However, her journey took a turn when she embraced the role of a stay-at-home Mom. It was during this transformative period that she discovered the profound impact that proper education can play on her children's lives. Driven by her desire to make a positive difference in the lives of her children and her community, Virginia poured her energy and passion into helping her husband develop CCA.

Chuck and Virginia both strongly believe in a Christian education, as their daughters were enrolled at a private Christian school which they loved dearly. However, due to the removal of the religious exemption as well as the lack of parental autonomy, their middle child was forced to withdraw from school and they began their homeschool journey. This would be the catalyst for them to explore how to create something in the state that would provide parents full autonomy over their children, practice their religious rights, and allow their daughters to attend and receive an excellent education. Connecticut Cross Academy was birthed out of many prayers, tears, and dream-building sessions. It had been a dream of Chuck's since 2015 to start a Christian school one day, however, neither of them imagined it would ever happen so soon.

Through much prayer, Chuck and Virginia have now become trailblazers paving the way for their kids and their community by providing another Christian educational opportunity within the Fairfield county area. They desire that this school will leave a legacy not of themselves, but of one that is Christ-centered, Christ-committed, and pursues Christ-like excellence.

Through the Lord's help, CCA will be the Christian school that will provide its students all that they need to develop and care for the whole student.
